Chinese startup Dobot unveils AI humanoid 'Atom' robot

Kyodo News reports that Shenzhen-based robotics startup Dobot introduced an AI-powered humanoid robot called “Dobot Atom,” standing 153 cm tall and capable of doing chores (making breakfast, pouring milk, etc.). The Atom is priced at 199,000 yuan (~$27,500) and is expected to enter mass production by mid-2025. Industry experts say this debut suggests Chinese humanoid robots are entering early mass-production stages, which could drive prices down significantly in coming years.
